Adaptable Music and Composition project, Grade .5 - 3
Variations on Ode to Joy is performable by 2 or more players via Zoom, Google Meet, or other online platform. The piece is intended to serve as an example of how students might compose their way around the problem of internet latency. The included presentation "Embrace the Lag" from the MMEA Summer Session gives educators ideas of how to use these materials and have students create and perform music together online. Variations on Ode to Joy parts have been provided in Bb for wind instruments, and in D for string instruments. All materials are free to be used, distributed, adapted, recorded, published and have been released with a Creative Commons 4.0 license. |
