Slow Burn was composed for the Lakeland Union High School Band, William Richter, director. Slow Burn uses a 12-bar blues form to explore various 16th note rhythms in a funky groove that grows from soft to strong. Written for a Grade 9-12 band with a variety of experience levels, this piece has challenging 1st parts, while keeping 2nd and 3rd parts more accessible. A fun tune for high schools with one band that want to keep everyone engaged. |
